Rexburg, Idaho’s Yellowstone Bear World opens for their 2018 season
soon and you’ll definitely want to plan a day trip to see it. This place
is by far one of the most unique attractions in the Gem State. The
drive-thru wildlife park provides an experience that you’ll never
forget, no matter how old or young you are. You’re sure to be thrilled
by the sight of dozens of free-roaming bears (along with other animals).
You simply don’t see parks like this very often, and it’s located right
here in Idaho. Take a look.
Located just five miles south of
Rexburg is the gem of a park known as Yellowstone Bear World. Drive
your own personal vehicle through this awesome park to see some of the
most beautiful North American wildlife, including plenty of bears!
Yellowstone National Park is
located just a stone's throw away, so many people make a visit to Bear
World on the way. This year they open for their season on April 21st and
they generally don't close until October when the bears go into
hibernation.
Upon entering the park, many
visitors note how happy and friendly the bears seem to be. The park
never obtains their bears from the wild, instead they have all been born
and bred in captivity. Bear World allows the wildlife to roam freely
within large spaces instead of being confined to small cages for their
entire life.
At Bear World, you'll observe
numerous Black Bears and Grizzly Bears. Nothing can compare to seeing
these beautiful creatures up close. It's truly a sight you'll always
remember.
However, Bear World isn't just
home to bears. All sorts of wildlife can be found throughout the park
including Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, White-Tail Deer, American
Bison, Moose, and more. Driving through the park is like the North
American equivalent to a safari tour.
The park provides a variety of
special experiences that you should definitely check out including
bottle feeding bear cubs, curator tours that get you closer to the bears
than ever, and even a petting zoo.
There's even a variety of
amusement rides that you won't be able to pass up. Rides are included in
admissions costs and are great for children, but adults can definitely
enjoy them too!
Don't forget to stop by the
Three Bears Gift Shop where you can pick from a variety of souvenirs and
even get your hands on some delicious homemade fudge. They offer over
20 flavors of fudge including Idaho Rocky Road and Huckleberry Swirl.
What do you think? Are you ready to plan a trip for Bear World's opening day? Check out their official website for more information.
This may come as a surprise, but there aren't too many mainstream songs out there written about our beautiful state. Apparently, everyone's exes live in Texas or something like that... Not that we mind! The fewer people who know about our slice of paradise, the better, right? Regardless, when a good song about Idaho comes on the radio or personal playlist, we can't help but wax a little nostalgic. Today, we've been able to dig up 15 tunes that capture the spirit of Idaho in their own unique way. Have a listen! 1. "Idaho" - Reckless Kelly (2013) "Because he's an Idaho cowboy/no Tennessee plow-boy / He's wild as the Rockies he rides." This popular alternative country group made every heart melt with this song. It sure does capture the spirit of the mountain-loving Idahoan, doesn't it? 2. "Idaho" - Feeder (2012) "I may find a better view, find a better... view / Idaho." Feeder is a British (Welsh) rock band that has bee...
Casa Loma (Spanish for "Hill House") is a Gothic Revival castle-style mansion and garden in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a historic house museum and landmark. It was constructed from 1911 to 1914 as a residence for financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The architect was E. J. Lennox, who designed several other city landmarks. Casa Loma sits at an elevation of 140 meters (460 ft) above sea level, 66 meters (217 ft) above Lake Ontario. Due to its unique architectural character in Toronto, Casa Loma has been a popular filming location for movies and television. It is also a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, and Casa Loma can be rented in the evenings after the museum closes to the public. History In 1903, financier Henry Pellatt purchased 25 lots from developers Kertland and Rolf. Pellatt commissioned architect E. J. Lennox to design Casa Loma, with construction beginning in 1911, starting with the massive stables, potting shed, and Hunting Lodge (a.k.a...
