Everybody loves a hunt for a hidden waterfall! Lucky for us, Idaho is
loaded with little-known falls just waiting to be uncovered. All you
have to do is go out and search for them. Better yet, we found a
magnificent hidden waterfall for you to check out and you’ll definitely
want to plan a trip to see it. A short and easy hiking trail leads you
straight to the falls, complete with bridges, creeks, and an abundance
of natural beauty. This is an outing that you’re sure to remember.
Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is one
of Idaho's best kept secrets. Located near Bonners Ferry, the refuge is a
magnificent spot loaded with beautiful scenery and an abundance of
wildlife. It's also here that you'll find the elusive but incredible
Myrtle Falls.
Myrtle Falls is the only
waterfall that can be viewed from one of the refuge's hiking trails. A
brief, quarter-mile hiking trail leads you along Myrtle Creek to the
perfect vantage point of this impressive waterfall.
The trail is well-marked and
easy to follow so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. The Myrtle
Falls Trailhead can be found just opposite from the Refuge Office on the
Auto Trail Road. The trail is ADA-accessible up to the point of where
you'll reach an awesome little footbridge that crosses the creek.
Here you can stop for a moment
and just take in the beautiful sights. Forestry surrounds you from all
sides and there's nothing but the sound of the creek below to disturb
you. The Refuge is just that—an escape from the chaos of civilization.
The trail becomes primitive past
the bridge but it's still very manageable. A small fence lines the
trail, telling you where to go. There are some steep sections throughout
the trail but it isn't long before you reach the overlook for the
waterfall.
The observation point is the
perfect place to view Myrtle Falls. The waterfall is almost hidden by
towering pine trees but there's no denying just how incredible the falls
are. At approximately 100 feet high, the falls are definitely notable.
The waterfall is especially
impressive when the run-off is high and the cascades of water are
spectacularly abundant. Myrtle Falls definitely proves itself to be a
hidden waterfall that is well-worth going out of your way for.
What do you think? Are you ready to
plan an adventure to Myrtle Falls? Check out the short but sweet video

Casa Loma (Spanish for "Hill House") is a Gothic Revival castle-style mansion and garden in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a historic house museum and landmark. It was constructed from 1911 to 1914 as a residence for financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The architect was E. J. Lennox, who designed several other city landmarks. Casa Loma sits at an elevation of 140 meters (460 ft) above sea level, 66 meters (217 ft) above Lake Ontario. Due to its unique architectural character in Toronto, Casa Loma has been a popular filming location for movies and television. It is also a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, and Casa Loma can be rented in the evenings after the museum closes to the public. History In 1903, financier Henry Pellatt purchased 25 lots from developers Kertland and Rolf. Pellatt commissioned architect E. J. Lennox to design Casa Loma, with construction beginning in 1911, starting with the massive stables, potting shed, and Hunting Lodge (a.k.a...
