Boasting year-round recreation
in North Idaho, there's always an adventure to be had on the Trail of
the Coeur d'Alenes. As the longest bike trail in the state, it's
definitely worth taking the time to explore.
The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes
stretches for 73-miles between the towns of Mullan and Plummer. It
follows the historic Union Pacific Railroad and boasts many entry points
and trailheads across its entirety.
What's so amazing about this
spectacular bike trail is the wide range of scenery you'll experience on
the trail. From the high mountain views to the shores of Lake Coeur
d'Alene, the path takes you right to some of Idaho's greatest
landscapes.
On the side closest to Mullan,
cyclists and pedestrians will experience the splendor of Idaho's
historic Silver Valley. Surrounded by the Coeur d'Alene Mountains, the
abundant natural beauty of this historic mining region will leave you
floored.
From the Silver Valley,
trail-goers will meander along the Coeur d'Alene River, past the shores
of Lake Coeur d'Alene, and right over the Chatcolet Bridge to Heyburn
State Park. You'll even get the opportunity to actually rider over the lake.
The final stretch of the trail
is noted for its wide-open, rolling farmlands. Closely following Plummer
Creek before terminating just north of the town of Plummer, the scenery
makes for a serene ending to this epic trail.
Currently, there are 20
developed trailheads that provide entry points to this incredible bike
trail. Learn more about the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and the scenery

Casa Loma (Spanish for "Hill House") is a Gothic Revival castle-style mansion and garden in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a historic house museum and landmark. It was constructed from 1911 to 1914 as a residence for financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The architect was E. J. Lennox, who designed several other city landmarks. Casa Loma sits at an elevation of 140 meters (460 ft) above sea level, 66 meters (217 ft) above Lake Ontario. Due to its unique architectural character in Toronto, Casa Loma has been a popular filming location for movies and television. It is also a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, and Casa Loma can be rented in the evenings after the museum closes to the public. History In 1903, financier Henry Pellatt purchased 25 lots from developers Kertland and Rolf. Pellatt commissioned architect E. J. Lennox to design Casa Loma, with construction beginning in 1911, starting with the massive stables, potting shed, and Hunting Lodge (a.k.a...
