Living in Idaho requires a unique type of person. This only makes sense considering our state is such a one-of-a-kind destination! The list could go on and on about what makes people in Idaho some of the best people you’ll ever meet. However, we narrowed it down to nine main characteristics. Check them out below.

1. First of all, we're always ready to lend a helping hand.
Whether you're stuck in a pile of snow or you need to borrow a cup of sugar, Idahoans have got you covered. Here in Idaho, neighbors are actually neighborally and that's something we're immensely proud of.
2. We're proud of our roots.
There's a reason people who are born in Idaho tend to stick around for the entirety of their lives. Idahoans are full of pride when it comes to the Gem State. Even if we live somewhere else for a short while, nothing compares to home.
3. We enjoy the scenic route.
It may take longer but we really don't care. Idahoans are the type of people who will actually go out of their way to enjoy the simple pleasures that our state has to offer. Hey, when your state boasts incredible landscapes like this, it's hard to stay away!
4. We enjoy the simple life.
Life seems to move slower here, especially in our smaller towns. We aren't too concerned about keeping up because this is the lifestyle that suits us best. It may not be for everyone, but it's for us.
5. But we love adventure, as well.
Just because we enjoy the simple things doesn't mean we don't know how to branch out. Idahoans are some of the most adventurous people you'll meet. We're up for anything at anytime, whether that means climbing a mountain or riding a buggy across a giant sand dune!
6. We know how to have a good time.
Again, Idaho life may be simple but it's far from boring. In fact, our state is full of things to do at pretty much any time. Get your groove on at a music festival or get dirty at a rodeo. The possibilities are endless.
7. We appreciate natural beauty more than anything.
Idahoans are known for their huge appreciation of nature. Here in Idaho we enjoy our natural landscapes and we'll do everything it takes to preserve them. You won't spot any of us littering or destroying our natural areas! Well, we would hope not...
8. Being nice is a way of life here.
The first thing people from out of state usually notice about Idahoans is just how dang nice we are. Idaho is the type of place where you can make a new friend just walking down the street. We believe in smiling, saying hello, and using our manners here.
9. We're tough.
Idahoans are tough. Maybe it's our agricultural background or the fact that the weather can always take a turn here, but you can always rely on an Idahoan to hold their own.

 With nearly 130 soakable hot springs (the most soakable hot springs of any state in the country), there are dozens of destinations to visit.
